i think this might actually be my rist time ever seeing this movie. i wouldve assumed cruella played a bigger part in it but suppose thats bc in recent memory there has been more focus on her. anyway i loved it. made me laugh out loud a bunc, mostly the the head of dogs dog idk. it was also adorable the puppies were so cute they remind me of muneer and iloved them. im very comforted by this era of disney animation, its cozy. oh i also loved the male character idk his name the singer. he was great in every scene he was in. and ofc this was a really good watch much due to the egyptian dub
The Nutcraker / Schelkunchik . 1973 ( USSR )

Queeer 2024
kinda hated it. not at all what i had expected and it just dragged on and on towards the ending. maybe this is also due to me disliking psychedelic/dream sequences and surrealism in film. i also hated that apparently many of the symbolism (which, way to many of them) you could only understand if youre well versed on the original author of the novella of queer. i had realized that one of the factors determining wther i like a piece of media,esp cinema, is wether id like to be in that world after the movie has ended, and in this case, i just wanted it to finish, the last 20 minutes especially were tortuous. also appearently according to the director, this truly is a love story. just one that is between people who are out of sync, not between a guy and a man double his age who always preys on younger men, its just odd given that hed directed cmbyn as well, not saying that movie endorsed the age gap, maybe it was just about exploration, but it also paid it no mind, (maybe it did and i just forgot as is been years). daniel craig is so hot and this movie, suppoed to make me more attracted to him, just turned me off by him, some of the scenes were so uncomfortable and unbearable with him turly just coming off like a creepy old man. hard watch. would sya wouldve been better off watching challengers but maybe this director isnt for me
quiz (2020 mini series)
i watched a youtube video abt this case and pasued it not continuing when i saw theres a mini series on it and decided to watch that instead and it actually did manage to have a lot of suspense. there are many things i actually liked, i felt the actors were real, especialyr ms ingrem, her mannerisms and outfits and look in general. it was cool to watch how the show began in the first place in the first ep and this whole underground community, so fascinating how every little thing will have some sort of weird underground thing, i mean th eextent this went to is so impressive. i think the first episode may have just had a little too many moments trying to seem thrilling for entertaiment value but just ended up looking silly or funny. my favorite par twas of course the trial though, it was kind of meta commentary on the engineering of events and how the press or entertaiment want something to be percieved a certain way, most of the trial was the defense talking and so by the end i felt it was very convincing, but maybe if they had spent more time on the porsecution they could have convinced me too given the fact that the juy found the mguilty in the end. i do believe th edefense did a really good job but also in the end i would not oppose to the stance on them cheating, i just think that they were not masterminds or something, it was a silly way of cheating and hard to prove but not hard to excute i suppose.
peacemaker season 2
after finishing it i kind of just want to rewatch the whole thing again. idk if i liked this season more than season 1 though even though i think the plot of season 1 was a bit odder. i enjoyed maybe the first half of it then it started to lose me just a lil like i didnt feel it was very concise. the first couple episodes were really funny, the bird blindness and his whoole character was maybe my favorite and i did not end up hating the cheetos guy idr anyones names idk. i mean it was a good exploration on how as a white man he did not notice and was comfortable in a nazi world and how his dad was even less of a dick in this type of world. the romance between the half cyborg and rick flag sr was unnecessary and i like the prospect of her ending up with the economos. the last ep was pretty shit, felt so rushed and so disconnected. vigilante was rlly hot this season tho
The linguists
beautiful documentary, low budget and cozy. the footage explored diverse areas, some in india, some in russia and north america. i think i knew that there were about 7000 languages in the world but did not truly grasp that until i watched this and internalized that most people speak the major languages (from a an interview with one of the linguists, 80% of the world speaks the big 40ish langauges) which means that an insane number of languages is left to very few people, thus making these linguists sometimes meeting with people who are actually the last people to speak a certain langauge. it is very sad and scary to think how this language has now just died with this person. i was a bit skeptical seeing as this was two white american men going to brown and native peoples villages, but after watching an interview with Dr. David Harrison, i see that he does appreciate these languages and people. more on that in my video essays page
miss congeniality
this is again one of those thats easy to shit on, even more so than the proposal tbh, almost the whole first 15 minutes were just me constantly rolling my eyes, also it is a rewatch and i watched the sequel and the only thing i remeber from the sequel is that that dumb asshole she dates dumps her in like the first two minutes of the movie, hes the most annoyong love intrest i hope he dies, idk if this even counts as a romcom cause thank god there wasnt much of that dumn ugly fuck on the screen (i forgor his name). the movie is heartwarming and funny lots of the time, i also love miss rhode island i also forgot her name but shes adorable and i love the tiny detail of having her saying shes some sort of biology major at the end. overall i feel similarly about it as i do the proposal.
The proposal
this is my second watch, albeit i didnt remember any of it and got emotional for the whole third act conflict, i think its easy to criticise this movie for all the non PC things but also the general representation of a character like margret who was supposed to be so tough and in the span of two days her walls completely crumble for someone like ryan reynolds? felt more like a sci fi. just annoyed me at times like when she woke up and out on lipgloss like margret would not do that man stfu. anyway overall tho the premise and the side characters n stuff was all pretty good and made me laugh, esp ramone and even the post cred scene so its def a top 5 romcom but idk the other 4. i will watch more romcoms.
The Scarlet flower 1952 АЛЕНЬКИЙ ЦВЕТОЧЕК
another whimsical soviet one, it is only 40 minutes long, a rendetion of beauty and the beast. the animation was beautiful, the beast is a pick me and gaslighter but Nestenka is really cute. i wish this one had talking tea cups as well but tere were none. the animation was so detail orienated. all the animals looked wonderful and the world this story existing in truly magical. it also reminded me of a video i watched about how soviet vs american films depicted africans in old productions but in this one it is eastern depiction that was short but refreshingly not racist.
Cindrella (1947) (zolushka)
need to watch every whimsical soviet film after this. the scale of everything was almost perfect, the costumes were perfect and the color grading was too. the king was probably my favourite character and i am as shocked as i always am when an old piece of media makes me laugh even though it seems as the yare more capable of doing so more than contemporary media. the writing was brilliant. overall it felt light and extremely atmospheric. i hated that little ugly kid and the actress looked 70. overall enjoyed it very much. might watch the sleeping beauty cartoon next as it is very short, there is also the snow queen which seems also incredibly good.
South Park rewatch
every couple of years i rewatch some episodes and the show remains having some really good episodes that hold up, however of the most part are extremely unfunny due to being written by two white men who think they are smarter and wittier than everyone but are in fact extremely surface level and are reddit edgelords which i dont think is an unpopular opinion i suppose. i also noticed after my most recen watch the otherness of women in the show, it is expected but it was insane to me how prevelant it was and how once you saw it you couldnt unsee it such as having four CEOs in a room where one is a token woman but when they actually start talking the woman is literally just cut out of frame, not for any comedic purposes, just because they are two white edgelords who think they have cracked the code of being pc without being sissies and thtink they are inclusive.i love tweek and greg.
Ghosts TV show (2021)
i wanted a light comedy to watch and i think this was a good choice as it deos not require much brain power to watch and is easy, it has some pretty funny moments and good episodes. i have watched a few episodes from each season but not the whole show, i guess as of now the characters seem kind of flat, theyre funny sometimes with each of them having their own quirks in a way but thats the probelm as it is mostly quirks not personalities. i think i like Hetty the most. it is also one of those that is very PC as in making a founding father gay and a finance bro being sleezy but somehow also not racist or homophobic, also sass the indigenous charatcer is very boring and i havent seen his background being explored- maybe i missed that episode- it is also obviously a sitcom as it doesnt cover the conflicts such as a founding father and an indigenous characyer being stuck for eternity together, or truly covering the racism alberta must have faced in the 20's. only glazing over these sometimes. it just doesnt really make sense, even if you wanted to keep it light, maybe i should not review sitcoms tho, also the british version of the show is absolutely ass
